In 2011, I did a very special project with the Danish band Efterklang. They performed four shows in Eindhoven, Groningen, Utrecht, and Rotterdam during the 2011 Crosslinx festival.
The Danish band Efterklang opened the evening with a fairytale mix of folk, indie rock, electronica, and hints of Glass and Reich. Their third album, “Magic Chairs,” was released in February 2010 on the 4AD record label. On “Magic Chairs,” the brass section, strings, and soundscapes are frequently featured, and Efterklang knows how to keep the listener on edge with unexpected twists, eruptive playing, and a wide range of instruments. Especially for Crosslinx, the band was augmented by eight brass section members and classical percussionist Arnold Marinissen. Here’s an impression of the final concert in Groningen.

Later that year the whole gang went to Ireland and played a legendary concert at the Steve Reich Festival in Cork.
